VIRTEL WEB Access extends legacy
3270 applications to the Web almost instantly, in less
than 2 hours! It allows adapting their presentation
to the Web (fonts, colors, PF keys, etc.), eventually
transforming them into full-featured Web applications
with the addition of unlimited Web-specific ergonomics
and features such as clickable fields, command buttons,
combo boxes, pop-ups, calls to other Web servers, and
the likes. Clients only
need a standard JavaScript-capable Web browser, and
no additional software. VIRTEL requires no CICS
exit, no middleware, no Java applets, and it doesn't
use screen scraping.
Web-enabling developments require simple HTML and JavaScript
(Optionally VIRTEL Script) skills. VIRTEL's host-based
Assembler-coded two-tier solution delivers outstanding
scalability, performance, robustness, and reliability,
and allows combining existing host security (RACF, ACF2,
TSS) with IP security components (proxy, firewall,
SSO gateway, SSL security box) through its filtering
rules and URL controls. With Web Access, the legacy
code and navigation remain unchanged.

VIRTEL WEB Modernization
provides different modernisation and development solutions
for user interfaces.
The objective is to modernise and/or develop the interface
of legacy applications to provide users with a truly
dynamic Web application without the need for redevelopment.

VIRTEL WEB Integration provides
a response to the integration concerns and requirements
of companies.
The objective is to make transactions and data on the
host accessible and usable by any other server or Web
application in order to create composite applications.

VIRTEL-EK (3270 Emulation Killer) is
a restricted-use version of VIRTEL WEB Access competitively-priced
to replace 3270-emulation:
- In this configuration, users
permanently maintain their VTAM terminals with timeout
set to zero; VTAM terminals are disconnected only
if users click a disconnect button or stop their Web
browser; i.e. 100 users "consume" 100 VTAM
terminals
- Every "Entry Point"
connected to "HTTP Lines" must have its
timeout set to zero
VIRTEL-X2P (X25 to IP) is
used to eliminate 3745/NPSI:
- Emulates both XOT (X25 over TCP/IP)
and NPSI
- Mainly dedicated to X25 support,
it allows encapsulating X25 in IP using the XOT function
of CISCO routers
- NPSI emulation (GATE, Fast-Connect,
and PCNE) allows any mainframe applications using
these protocols to work transparently through VIRTEL
VIRTEL-eMS (eMail Services) is
an SMTP server.
VIRTEL-OC (Outgoing Calls) includes:
- Management of connection to any
External Server accessible through an X25 address
- Emulation allowing any user (3270
terminal, emulation, or Web browser through Web Access module)
or mainframe (MVS, VSE, VM) application (mainly CICS)
to access external applications using VT100 and 200
(VTxxx), 3270 (3174R where VIRTEL manages a pool of
LU for a remote virtual 3174), videotext (VDX), TTY,
or specific structured format message (TTY)
- VIRTEL base module: lines, rules,
entry-point, transactions, terminals definition, and
security interface (RACF, ACF2, TSS)
VIRTEL-IC (Incoming Calls) includes:
- Management of connection to any
VTAM application through an X25 address
- Emulation allowing any user (Minitel
terminal, VIRTEL PC emulator, VTxxx terminals, etc.)
of an X25 network to access VTAM applications
- Functions that support applications
built with GTM, GTM/OSI, or CSFI, and allow eliminating
those products
- VIRTEL base module: lines, rules,
entry-point, transactions, terminals definition, and
security interface (RACF, ACF2, TSS)
VIRTEL-VR (VTAM Relay) includes:
- Management of the connection
to any VTAM application
- VTAM session manager, compression
(3270 data flow optimization), security (user, profile,
and resources)
- VIRTEL base module: lines, rules,
entry-point, transactions, terminals definition, and
security interface (RACF, ACF2, TSS)
